[finally something decent to write about.. even if no one really cares about it. xD]

I am absolutely raving mad right now. Fed up. Really, fed, up.

So those who follow Stephenie Meyer (yes, I told you no one will really care) will know that she was planning another book in the Twilight series named Midnight Sun. It was going to be the exact story of her first book Twilight, but in Edward Cullen (the lead male)’s POV. It would’ve been great, because, since all the Twilights are in Bella (lead girl)’s POV, we would be seeing a completely different story through someone else’s eyes. And so much happens to Edward in that first book; all his feelings for Bella, all the things he has to cope through to stop him from killing her, etc.

I WAS REALLY LOOKING FORWARD TO IT. After Breaking Dawn (man, I still haven’t written a review) I’ve been having many doubts about the series, even though I thought the book was brilliant (an opinion no one else shares with me, apparently). My plan was to read Twilight again (I like plans btw, I always have some kind of plan, even when reading books xD) THEN go and buy Midnight Sun and read it, then read New Moon and finalise my opinion on it (the worst in the series imo) then read Eclipse, and THEN read Breaking Dawn again and decide whether it was decent or not. WHAT A BRILLIANT PLAN. YESYES. I would finally understand everything. I would no longer be confused out of my mind.

But then someone went and did THIS:

StephenieMeyer.com
As some of you may have heard, my partial draft of Midnight Sun was illegally posted on the Internet and has since been virally distributed without my knowledge or permission or the knowledge or permission of my publisher..

So where does this leave Midnight Sun? My first feeling was that there was no way to continue. Writing isn’t like math; in math, two plus two always equals four no matter what your mood is like. With writing, the way you feel changes everything. If I tried to write Midnight Sun now, in my current frame of mind, James would probably win and all the Cullens would die, which wouldn’t dovetail too well with the original story. In any case, I feel too sad about what has happened to continue working on Midnight Sun, and so it is on hold indefinitely.

That’s really horrible. Someone went and fekin leaked it, and now she’s not going to continue writing it for however long. SUCKS. I feel really bad for her tbh. She seemed to be so excited about that book. And I knew right from the first chapter that it would’ve definitely been better than Twilight in the way it was written.. the language she used for Edward was just so much better than that used for Bella. Argh.

The joke is, though, just for the hell of it, she posted the 12 chapters on her website. The 12 unedited and probably full of typos chapters of Midnight Sun. Probably the only stuff we’ll get for a while. I’m totally bummed and in a serious dilemma with myself.

1) I could go read the 12 chapters, like I went and read the first chapter that she’d posted however long ago. This would fuel my stress and would make up (slightly) for the fact that it might not be published any more.

2) Or, I could leave the chapters alone and forget about them like she would’ve wanted originally. This would be very hard for me as I am seriously helpless and weird when it comes to trying to stop myself from reading spoilers or whatever; it probably wouldn’t last. But then, if Smeyer DOES decide to finish the book, then it’ll be all the more amazing, because I won’t have already read it!

HELP ME! I feel guilty either way tbh. The 12 chapters may be taken off the site one day, and if Smeyer does decide to scrap the book, then I would’ve lost the chance to read it. But then if I do read it, there may not be much point in me buying the book anyway. Argh.

So yeah, just thought I’d rant. If anyone else was in this situation, what would they do? Read or not read? Give up or give in?

On another note, I’ve found a new love for The All-American Rejects. I never thought about buying their albums before even though I’d heard quite a few of their songs already, but I’m glad I did. I went and got Move Along (2005) from HMV the other day along with Jason Mraz’s Mr A.Z (which I haven’t really listened to, but Worplay is awesome man) and hell, I’ve found a new favourite album. I’m just in love with every single song on it! It’s definitely going right up there in my top 5 albums. Brilliant, it is. I highly recommend that anyone who likes just one AAR song should definitely purchase this album. It’s total love. ^_^

OH AND, Smeyer is writing and Directing the next Jack’s Mannequin video. Be interesting, tbh. Won’t include vampires though, apparently. Meheh. =P
