I apologise for my last blog if anyone took offence to it. I was so hyped up on annoyance then, and when I read it now it sounds quite rude. =/ Yes, that woman had no manners, and yes I still disagree with RE being taught in schools.. but looking at the course we just did, it wasn’t all that bad really, haha. Ugh, I just think it should be kept to religious schools and instead bring back the whole ‘humanities’ subject, which had history, RE and citizenship (law, rights, racism etc) all in one weekly lesson. Apparently that was good. Thank you Michelle and Yos for your views. ^_^

Anyway, the radio is active; new album time!! Anyone who’s ever had doubts about McFly, seriously, get this album in September. I’m speechless. It only cost me £1.50 to get this cd, but it was worth every penny, seriously. It’s so totally McFly, but so much rockier at the same time. You can just tell that this is exactly what they’ve wanted to do for years and years, and honestly, it’s BRILLIANT. I especially recommend ‘The Last Song’.. if anyone wants to take a look, I’m sure the tracks will be on YouTube soon enough. *hint*

I’ll do a track-by-track beneath the cut if anyone wants to read.

McFly have made music history by releasing their fourth album with the Mail On Sunday rather than straight into the shops. Since leaving their record label earlier in the year, everything they’ve been making has been straight from their minds without any filtering or restrictions. You can definitely hear the effort that’s been put into this record - every second of every track has been crafted directly by them, and some will say that it’s their best yet because of that. It’s out properly on 22nd September 2008, and I highly recommend that anyone and everyone grab themselves a copy; it will have - along with these tracks - four more songs, plus a dvd and 32 page booklet.

1) Do Ya - haha, just classic McFly except with such a different feel. Short, simple and rocky, with at least two key changes and very high pitched singing from Tom Fletcher. I rather like it; definitely not their best, however a great way to start off such an amazing album. - 7/10

2) Falling In Love - only one word can really describe this song, and that’s ‘beautiful’. Honestly, I thought the acoustic was good! It’s just such a pretty melodic song and all the instruments mix together brilliantly. I also think a certain Danny Jones’ vocals are excellent, but that’s a matter of opinion. =P Again, I love the harmonies and the multiple melodies that swerve in and out of each other. - 8/10

3) Everybody Knows - a song that mixes both rocky chants with brilliant melodies and terrific harmonies. Hypnotic guitar and drum playing all the way through, with a definite case of ‘air guitar’ being spread as the song progresses. Absolutely awesome, especially with all the ‘hey’ and ‘woah’s. xD - 7/10

4) Smile - totally weird, for McFly anyway. Starts off sounding like a 60s swing song, but really does hype you up when it jumps right into the rock. The lyrics and concept of the song are just absolutely brilliant. I can see this being a successful cheer-up song, which is great. - 7/10

5) One For The Radio - well, it’s brilliant. All I can say really. I for one love every part of it; the lyrics, the heavy guitar parts, the music video (Back to the Future plzz!!) and just the overall production. If people love this, then they’ll love the rest of the album, as it definitely isn’t the best track. - 8/10

6) POV - definitely one of my favourites. It’s just such a brilliant song, mixing both heavy with soft in true McFly style. If anything, this reminds me of many of the tracks on their Wonderland album, except it’s much better quality and you can definitely hear the maturity that these guys have gained since 2005. - 10/10

7) Corrupted - the thing with this is, it reminds me so much of a Paramore song. But, it’s miles better than Hayley Williams crap. It’s dark, edgy, fast, and everything that McFly really should’ve been years ago. Absolutely brilliant and totally different to the rest of the album. Really gives me shivers everytime I listen to it, which is a good thing! - 9/10

8) The Heart Never Lies - I just wonder why they put this song on ANOTHER album. It was released as a single and put on their Greatest Hits, but they must be so soo proud of it to put it on radio:active. I still class it as one of their best songs, me being in the minority however when saying that the lyrics are brilliant. It sounds quite out of place with the other faster tracks, but it’s still aswesome. 9/10

9) Going Through The Motions - although it’s simple (based on the 12 bar blues) this song is definitely so effective! It’s fast, hyper, and just plain brilliant. Apparently this would be their signature track if they were to make a musical and call themselves ‘The Motions’.. haha, whatever. xD The guitar solo is just absolutely friggin awesome, seriously! I can imagine Marty McFly playing it on stage at the Enchantment Under The Sea dance, haha. Still almost definitely completely classic McFly, but with a definite twist of ‘ballsy pop’ that they’ve been wanting to produce for ages. Brilliant! - 8/10

10) The Last Song - completely epic in every sense. Honestly, this track is just awesome. I can’t put into words how brilliant it is. If it was possible, I would make love with it. No joke. It combines slow piano pieces with heavy and uptempo rock that all blends together with the amazing lyrics and overall concept. To me this song is absolute genius - their best track by far, and they’ve done a hell of a lot of amazing tracks - and if none of the other songs do the job, this one will blow every hater straight off their feet. I highly recommend it to everyone. - 20/10

My verdict - definitely some of their best work yet, and well worth the long wait! Cannot wait for the extra songs in September!
