1) Hooray for pink, candy-cane like patterns at the top of windows. (You do not know how long it took for me to figure out how to have TWO repeating body-backgrounds. =P)
2) What, it’s the end of 2008?
This year hasn’t been especially amazing, but it hasn’t been especially crap, either. I saw Wicked (the musical) in July. I discovered some amazing music after joining Last.FM in April. I participated in and won National Novel Writing Month in November. I finished the first draft of a novel in December. I took around fifteen million exams between September and December (literally, including two proper final English exams that I’m finding the results for sometime in January). Omfg, I discovered Twilight and Jodi Picoult this year. I got this website this year. I rode a horse for the first time in like, ten years, in July. I remember asking my blog for Doctor Who episodes on DVD for crimbo, and that wish was granted (how magic? haha).
Overall? Not amazing, but not rubbish. I think 2007 was better, but I can’t remember much that happened then, either. I think I’ll write 2008 off as being ‘new’ rather than ‘brilliant with fantastic achievements’ just because I’ve spent most of the year on this bloody domain. I can’t imagine what life was like without it.
Next year I hope to actually get things done. For one thing, now I have a passport, I want to leave the country. Where to I have no idea, but I seriously need to get off this drabble of an island. I also want to dedicate more time to schoolwork, guitar, photography and less time to the computer, because at the moment I’m coming on here wayyyyyy too much and getting distracted wayyyyyy to easily. I also want to get more active and stop sitting around all day, cause I don’t really wanna turn into anything that people/just me would class as ‘obese’, haha.
Is anyone actually doing anything for New Years? We’ve only got a few hours left, literally, and all I can think of doing is watching Meet The Fockers until the New Years show at ten. Either that or I’ll just sleep it all out. Never been a great fan of the whole ‘OMG THE YEAR’S OVER’ thing. In fact, I’m actually dreading it. Ew, I’m 16 next year. *shiver*
Anyway, if anyone has any bugs to report about the layout, let me know pleasums. Say also if it hurts your eyes or anything. ^_^
Oh yeah, I recieved an email (actually a flickr message.. same thing) today. (there was more to the message, including the link where I should reply back and everything, so don’t think they just jumped on me with a few lines. =P)
Hi sugarsprinklies,
I am writing to let you know that one of your photos has
been short-listed for inclusion in the sixth edition of our
Schmap Southampton Guide, to be published late January 2009.
Apparently Schmap want my Humpty Dumpty picture to use in one of their.. whatever you call an online brochure type thing. Except, Humpty Dumpty wasn’t in Southampton? It was on the Isle of Wight? I checked and it’s defo not a scam, but still.. should I let them have it? I’m not worried about the nicking stuff - if anyone wants to use my photos then fine - but there you go, s’okay to be cautious, right? I’ll probably just go with it, anyway, for the hell of it. ^_^ Get my name out there, further my oh so amazing photography career. yesyes.
Happy New Year in case I don’t write tomorrow!
