Ok so I haven’t actually been a member for long (since April, actually) but this new Last.fm looks a bit crap. Seriously. I’m so confused and lost. Before it was easy to navigate around, but now I can’t find anything. It’s wayy too silly.

But, the good thing is, I get used to things pretty quickly, so hopefully I’ll be fine in a few weeks. It just really annoys me when things change so much that they aren’t the same anymore. Do you know what I mean?

Anyway. I know I’m way behind, but.. IT’S SUMMER! I just got home. YES. I’m going on holiday next Saturday. Soo excited! Bring on 6 weeks of pure.. boredness. xD

Yep. My school did something amazing for once; they took me - and other freaks - to see the musical “Wicked” in London. I actually went to London, and I actually saw a musical. I LOVED it. =D

Wicked is a musical based on book which was written in 1990 (or something). It’s about the witches from the story ‘The Wizard Of Oz’; the wicked witch of the west, Elphaba, and Glinda, the good witch of the north. It was very funny and the storyline was really unpredictable. It tells how the scarecrow, tinman, and lion came to be, along with the wicked witch of the east’s past and what happened to make her sister so ‘wicked’. (although, it isn’t the official story, of course.. there are obvious differences with Elphaba’s relationship with the scarecrow in the musical and the original which aren’t explainable in this spin-off)

The songs though.. well, they were just breathtaking. Especially one named “Defying Gravity”. Oh god, I’m so in love with that song. It’s so powerful that it made the hairs on the back of my neck and on my arms stand on end! Other songs though, like “I’m Not That Girl” were also brilliant, and were extra amazing with the actors singing and acting completely live. The sound and vision in the theatre was exceptionally amazing, and at one point the sound was actually behind me, and sent shivers down my spine. It was perfectly amazing. Seriously.

I gave in and bought both the programme and the cd.. haha! That’s £22 out the window which I’ll have to make up again if I want my regular music. =/

But yes, if anyone ever has a chance to, go see Wicked. Or just any musical for that matter! Just as my music teacher said, it certainly is lifechanging to see a live musical. The atmosphere was just brilliant, and I promise, you’d never walk out disappointed.

Anyone else seen Wicked?

I know the general rule in life is to not trust such sites as Wikipedia, but something I read on there has made me scream with annoyance. [Sorry, but it's Stephenie Meyer related. =P]

Apparently she’s doing TWO sequels to her novel ‘The Host’. What? A sequel to ANOTHER one of her novels? Please, no. PLEASE, NO. NONONONONONONONONONOx100.

I reviewed The Host a while ago, so some should know what it was about. Aliens, souls, humans, love triangles, nice stuff, death, deserts, science-fiction for those who hate science-fiction, etc. But I refuse to let her do ONE sequel, let alone TWO!! Christ.

As anyone who reads will know, books are RUINED by sequels, and Meyer’s other work, Twilight, has been no exception to that rule. As much as I love both New Moon and Eclipse, they were absolute crap compared to Twilight. The Host - in my opinion - is like, better than the whole Twilight saga put together. I LOVE IT. What I loved about it most was that the story actually ENDED.. like, there was a beginning, a middle, and an end, without any decent room for a sequel. Any sequels now would just be following the characters.. not the main idea of the story in the first place! Ok, so the events of the souls on earth could be talked about in a sequel, but the whole Melanie-Jared-Wanda thing has been sorted now, so please, LEAVE IT TO REST!

I’m hoping for the life of me that Meyer doesn’t do sequels to every single one of her books, especially not The Host. I can’t stand it. Some books are better off as standalones. But is there no such thing anymore? If every bookin the world had a sequel, what would be the point in books themselves? Why not just create a MASSIVE book with everything in? I love The Host as it is, seriously!

I just hope for Meyer’s sake that these ’sequels’ will be as good as the original. Because if I read the first and don’t like it near enough as I did The Host, I will seriously boycott books forever. It’s just silly now. Totally silly. There’s only so much you can squeeze out of one set of characters. I’m depressed.

Just had to let that all out. Feel free to discuss sequels if you wish. =P
